COM 461

As part of having a leadership minor and being apart of the LAS cohort, we are required to take COM 461, Communication in leadership.  This is a course that we take with our cohort, however I was interning with the Disney College Program while my cohort took the class, so I took it online.  Throughout the course, we talked about and learned about many influences that communication has on leadership.  We talked about traits and styles, teams, organizations, diversity, and gender as it relates to leadership.  This class has been one of the most interesting and beneficial classes within the leadership minor.  I have been able to take what I have learned and applied it to my involvements here at Central and the outside world. I have become more critical of groups I am part of and the people I see as leaders. I have also focused more on my leadership roles and communicating my desires and needs.  I would highly recommend this class to everyone at CMU, even if you are not a leadership minor.
